This past month we delivered major improvements in integrations and AI. Ocean custom opens up your entire toolchain, letting you plug in virtually any tool, while the new Ocean-powered GitHub integration, Slack sync, Entra ID ingestion, and n8n automation node pull even more of your ecosystem into one place.
On the AI side, Port AI Assistant gets sharper, contextual, and deeply connected to your data: agents you can talk to directly, prompts you can run instantly, and answers that understand exactly where you are in the platform.
By the way, did you know we have an interactive version of these release notes?
Here's what we shipped in November:
Big
Connect any tool with Ocean custom integration
Ocean Custom lets you connect any external service to Port using standard HTTP requests. Skip the wait for custom integrations and bring data in from internal tools, legacy systems, or SaaS platforms instantly.
Use the interactive builder to set up your integration in minutes - no engineering help needed.

New GitHub integration powered by Ocean (open Beta)
We launched a fully rebuilt GitHub integration, now powered by Ocean. It brings scheduled syncs, stronger isolation, multi-org support, granular filters, built-in observability and more! while keeping full parity with the old experience, including actions triggers.
Install it using a GitHub App or PAT from the Integrations page.

Define Contextual Query Rules with UI (GA)
A new UI now lets you define user-aware query rules without writing code. You can create role-based and context-based rules that automatically adapt queries to the user who’s running them. This capability is now available in Pages and in Widgets’ initial filters, and is generally available for all customers.

Chat with AI Agents directly in Port Assistant
You can now chat with specific AI Agents right inside the Port AI Assistant sidebar for more accurate, context-aware help. Skip dedicated widgets — just pick the agent you need and get tailored support for incidents, tickets, bugs, and more.
Open the Assistant, click
+ > AI Agents
, and start chatting.
Run custom prompts directly in Port Assistant
You can now browse and run your team’s MCP prompts right from the Port AI Assistant — no setup or external tools needed. From bug reports to RCAs, prompts standardize how work gets done and help you move faster with built-in guidance.
Click
+ > Prompts
in the Assistant to explore and use prompts.
Medium
Port node for n8n workflows
You can now orchestrate workflows in n8n using a dedicated Port node, making it easy to trigger actions while leveraging Port’s context lake and AI capabilities. No more custom integrations — just drag, drop, and automate.

Track AI usage in Port
Monitor adoption and usage of AI developer tools like Claude and Cursor directly from your software catalog. With native support via Custom Ocean, platform teams can now gain visibility into AI assistant usage and costs across engineering teams.

Follow the integration guides to get started:
Track integration changes with new audit log tab
Easily trace integration mapping and settings changes with the new
Integrations
tab in the builder audit log. It’s auto-enabled for builders and platform engineers, helping you troubleshoot issues and improve visibility across your integration workflows.Visit any builder’s audit log to see the new tab in action.

Sync Slack users and channels to Port
Bring Slack workspace data into your software catalog by syncing users, channels, and user groups via slack API. Power ownership dashboards, streamline incident workflows, and add communication context to your platform.
Install the integration via Helm or Docker on self-hosted Port. Support for hosted-by-Port is coming soon.
## Configurable OAuth popup flow for protected iframe widgets
Allows configuring when protected iframe widgets complete OAuth via a popup window, improving authentication UX and embed compatibility.
Sync Entra ID identity data into Port
Bring Microsoft Entra ID into your software catalog with support for syncing applications, service principals, users, and groups. Track relationships and permissions to enable identity-aware governance workflows across your platform.
Follow the updated integration guide to install the connector and apply blueprint mappings.
Small
AI chat now understands page and entity context
Port AI now automatically scopes responses to the entity or dashboard you’re viewing, so you can ask smarter, more focused questions without repeating context. Use dedicated agents like “Metrics” on a team page to ask things like “What’s our lead time?” or “Show open PRs.”
Just open the AI chat widget on any entity or dashboard to try it out.
Sidebar Collapse-All Control
One-click ‘Collapse All’ for sidebar folder trees. Collapses all nested folders to quickly declutter or reset the view. Access via the collapse-all icon on sidebar hover.

Re-authentication for OAuth2 Ocean Integrations
You can now manually reauthorize OAuth2-based Ocean integrations directly from the Settings tab — no need to uninstall and reinstall. This reduces downtime and keeps your integrations running smoothly with less effort.
Go to the integration’s Settings tab to restore authorization when needed.

Updated Approval Email Design
Refreshed templates and styling for approval notification emails to improve readability and brand consistency.
Blueprint identifier/title length expanded
We increased the 30-character limit for Blueprint identifiers and titles to 100 characters, allowing longer, more descriptive names across the platform for better clarity and organization.
✨ AI Guides
